Requirements regarding samples:
1. Please return any unused portion of the samples we have supplied to you.
2. Please provide the Michigan Basin Core Research Laboratory with any data generated from
the testing of these samples.
3. If any publications are generated using this data, please acknowledge that the samples
were provided by the "Michigan Basin Core Research Laboratory, Department of Geosciences,
Western Michigan University". Please also provide the reference to the publication for our records.

Lab Visitation to view Cores, well records and data, including discussion time with Lab personnel
-- $150 per 8 hour day or $25 per hour

Layout of core material -- $1 per foot of core laid out. Minimum charge of $50 per well
- Sampling of core materials
The core layout fee applies if samples need to be retrieved from storage for sampling.
Chips cut for thin section -- $5 per sample
Small samples for geochemical analysis -- $5 per sample
One inch drilled Core plug for analysis -- $10 per sample
Thin sections must be returned to the core lab along with any residual sample material.
A copy of any analysis of core or cuttings samples must be supplied to the lab.
We have a limited amount of core material and must restrict sampling. If you want to look there are unlimited
possibilities. Sampling will be variable depending on how much core material we have and what you need. Samples
not destroyed or damaged on testing must be returned to the Core Lab

Examination of Drill Cuttings -- $10 per well
Sampling drill cuttings (if sufficient material exists) at $1 per sample

Copies of wireline logs or Mudlogs -- $20 per log
- Many logs and some mudlogs may have already been scanned as tiff raster images. Check with us or contact Steve Wilson at the Michigan DEQ, Office of Geological Survey
- Copies of Core Analysis are $25 per well for Photocopies of paper files. $15 per well for digital data (P&P only)

Copies of information from other Data Archives will be supplied at a rate of $0.25 per page.
Minimum charge is $5.00 per well
